Firewall Insulation ????

Does anyone know of a source for the upper and lower firewall insulation for a 68 corvette. It seems the distributor for these items has a 4 to 6 month wait. This has stopped my restoration project. Any help would be appreciated.

Have you tried other catalog parts houses to see if the item's in stock at one? Specificially, Dr. Rebuild, Chicago Corvette, Corvette Central, Zip Products, Ecklers, and Corvette America all list Shark interior parts....

I was able to get mine from Dr. Rebuild in December for my 68. Although, I am not sure, but I might have depleated his inventory with my purchase. If you are unsuccessful, please eMail me back, and I will put you in touch with someone that can run these difficult, hard to find parts down.

I checked with everyone and no one has the insulation. Some people claim the company that use to make the insulation doesn't make it any more. If anyone else is thinking of replacing the insulation in their car I would suggest that they not rip out the old stuff because you can't get a replacement piece at this time. Hopefully someone from the board will be able to locate a distributor.

It's my understanding that Country Corvettes in Kansas is the only place where this insulation is made. They don't sell direct. I purchased my 66 Corvette insulation from Corvette World, Greensburg, Pa. 724-837-8600. It took several months from the time I ordered it. Ain't cheap either.

I checked Corvette World and they don't have the insulation. Bill I try to help you out however it sounds like there isn't much hope finding the insulation being stocked. Everyone has been asking me to place an order but they expect the insulation wouldn't be in for 6 months or longer.

corvette central , i just ordered some yes it does take time and is not cheap but maybe it is great quality and orig , then its a great buy put your order in a relax
