I am ready to start putting my frame back togother after repairs, blasting and painting. I am starting at the rear and need to rebuild or replace my leafs at this point. I prefer to use the original 4-leaf springs which I believe are correct with the exception of a single leaf on each side. My problem is that each side has had the third longest leaf replaced and these single leafs are definitely not correct. They are cut on the ends as if modified and/or taken from "something" else--probably passenger series finds by a previous owner. The bango was passenger so I have replaced it too. I don't have a lot of contacts or knowledge in this area. Seem nobody wants to talk about a "single" leaf purchase especially for 1958 model car. Any advice on where to locate two of these third longest leafs?

Re: C1 Rear Leaf Spring
Dennis, thanks for info. Sorry about all the spelling errors on my original post but think my wine glass was nearly empty when I wrote it. I had been sandblasting all day. Worst part, it is the second longest leaf not the third. Brain appears to be failing as I get older and WISER? Know I can buy these things "new" but I have just gotten tired of spending money to replace almost all aspects of something I am trying to "restore or preserve"--National Corvette Replacement Society. I am really getting into "refurbishing, repairing or reconstructing the original items. Started out I wanted to have an authentic looking driver. Now, I only want to finish and stare at it in the garage knowing I did it! I have several others to drive so looking is fine on this one at this point.
Suspect I am being hard-headed on some issues that really don't matter but I cannot help it. I have this thing to feel the pain of rebuilding the old leafs knowing that I will most likely replace with FRESH lesfs later. I know, Stupid but I cannot help it. I know you are right about the ride with replacement setup. Thanks for responding.- Top

Re: C1 Rear Leaf Spring
Bill,
Other than advertising a wanted in the "The Driveline," I can think of only two sources that MIGHT have individual leaf springs other: Mary Jo (858) 451-1933 and Grossmueller's (908) 213-8832. Regards,- Top
