    C1 distributor cap question...

Were the contacts in the original non-window V8 distributor cap brass or aluminum?

    Dave,
I thought they were aluminum. Do recall BNCRS (before NCRS) when we wanted these old solid axles to perform in the upper RPM range, we'd use an Echlin distributor cap (brass inserts) and Packard 440 wiring. Regards,

I assume you are referring to the D-305 Delco Remy cap. The standard D-305 had aluminum contacts but it was also made with copper contacts. I'm not sure if the Delco number was different for the copper contact cap.
