    C1 '58 seat spring height ,sn 8490

Sitting in the front seat is like sitting in a 5 gal. bucket. Most of the foam has dry rotted away. The question is, are the springs gone or is it just a lack of foam? What should the approx. height of the springs be? I'm replacing the foam and the seat covers. If it needs correct springs so be it, but I hate to spend $250 if I don't need them.

A couple of years ago I put a new interior in my '57 including springs. One seat had the springs broken and gone and replaced with foam, the other side was still okay. The new springs raised the height several inches, enough so that myhead now hit the top bows when the top was up. Kind of a miserable ride then. Don't know if your '58 would be the same. The springs in mine had rusted and broken. If you can use the springs from the other seat in my '57 email me and lets talk. I still have them. ----Ted
