All,
This is going to sound strange, but I was wondering if others out there that have owned/driven both years notice a big difference. I owned a '69 427/390 Roadster in college about 14 years ago. It had the stock 8" rally wheels and BF Goodrich 225/70R-15 radials.
My current '66 327/300 Coupe rides on the stock 5.5" steel wheels w/205/75R-15 Michelin Radials. The '66 feels much more "twitchy" than my '69 did. ie Small steering inputs in the '66 seem to magnified to a much greater degree than the '69's. Could those extra 2.5" of wheel make that much of a difference (or possibly the weight bias)? The '66 almost feels "unsafe," like if I needed to make an emergency lane change, I could lose it.
The suspension has been completely redone, along with all bearings, etc in the rear end. Alignment is to factory specs.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks, Alex
