I have a reconditioned, original PF 141 oil filter cannister. All the parts appear to have been left in place during restoration. (Repainting and silk screening instructions) Should there be a washer of some type between the head of the bolt and the outside of the cannister to prevent leakage?

Rob, as I recall, there is a copper washer that is mallable to seal as you tighten the bolt. It gets reused each time, and doesn't come apart....Craig -

Craig, I removed the thick paint off the bolt head and saw there is in fact, a thin washer still there. Thanks, RobComment

If you still have a leak problem, LICS now has a repair kit for the canisters, including the copper and steel washers, retainers, etc.Comment
