Hello All,I am a new member who recently purchased his first corvette. The only reason I wish I wouldn't have bought the car,is that the car has side exhaust.Knowing now that they were not even a dealer opt.,and I don't like them anyway,I've decideded to convert back to an under car exhaust. This is also something I wish I wouldn't have done now that I see the part of the fender they had to cut off to fit the covers is also where I need to attach the front of the rocker mouldings I don't have.As my profile may help discribe,I am allready trying to do to many things at once.(My mistake, but I refuse to let that take the fun out of it).The bottom line is,I need help with a couple of things, and I'm starting to realize I am running out of time.I could swear I saw some company advertising parts to repair this problem, but can't seem to relocate.Or was this in a beautifull dream ?Either way ,I'm open for suggestions. Thanks,Barney

Re: Converting'70 from side to under car exhaust
There are 'kit' parts to restore the fiberglass body cuts made install side exhaust on mid-year Corvettes in various catalogs. Don't recall having seen a similar kit for 'Shark' cars....
But, it ought to be doable if you obtain the pieces needed from a Corvette 'bone yard'... Locally, (Denver) there are a few places that specialize in parting out Shark cars as well as shops that specialize in building/maintaining vintage race cars. Either would be a source for the components based on 'crash' car body panels!- Top

Hi Barney,
Check out the article in "Vette Magazine" Jan 03 and Feb 03 about adding side pipes to a C3, this article is just the opposite of what you what to do , but you might get some pointers on body repair and the parts that you need to convert back to non side pipes. Good Luck. Save the Wave.>George- Top
