Master Cylinder Cover

I have the original master cylinder cover on my '72. I'd like to have it re-plated. My plan is to go for a survivor judging .... someday. My question is, would I lose more points for having it replated or for the plating being worn off. I'm not familiar with how a survivor would be judged. I guess what I'm really asking is would restoring the finish on original parts be a mistake for a survivor judging.

Al - while I am no judge, everything I have heard on this board and elsewhere is for survivor judging don't restore, so I suspect you should leave it be and not replate. For flight judging, replate would be the way to go...I am sure someone with extensive knowledge will chime in....Craig
