Build Sheet for 1980

Does anyone have (web site?) a build sheet for a 1980? Much of my build sheet is illegible.

I found my build sheet glued to the gas tank. I was able to remove it without too much damage, but the paper is quite fragile and much of the sheet is very faded. The option codes and the dealer (Galles Chevrolet in Albuquerque) are legible. I can make out some of the letters typed in other blocks of the sheet, however, the titles of the blocks have long since faded away.

Nope, you've got the only one there is; there are no records available for any St. Louis-built Corvettes, other than the tank stickers that went with them from '67-on. Some have found copies up behind the instrument cluster.

What I was looking for was someone with a legible copy of a build sheet from 1980. I would like to know what information went in the various sections of the build sheet. I can read some of the codes typed on the paper, it is just that I cannot read what the title of the section is.

To expand your search, which will take some time, you may want to tap the free ad in the Driveline and post your query there.

If you have taken advantage of it already, GM offers this restoration guide which includes marketing stuff, specifications, etc. I don't know how far back they go but I know those guides are avilable for the 70's. I'll have to look around for the source.

I've got the original window sticker off my 78 but the corner was torn (RPOs) and it took a while to read the faded descriptions to determine precisely the RPOs equipped with the car. I then had a window sticker reproduced through AAA Enterprises.

Dave --- I've got a photocopy of a '78 tank sticker which is quite readable. The format didn't change much over those years, so the boxes in the upper half probably correspond to your '80 sticker. Email me and describe the boxes you need identified, and I'll advise.

National Corvette Museum has the tank stickers [build sheets ?] from part of 1981 onwards. A window sticker will not have all the code info found on the build sheet.

You might want to try scanning the Build Sheet and then using software to enhance the image. Items that are tough to read may be readable after doing this.
