Please help me out. I thought I read somewhere that the use of two gaskets under each carb had an advantage. I think the advantage was overheating of the gas in the bowls. I've finished the judging process and want the 59 to run as well as possible and I've had to remove the carburators for another problem anyway. Thanks...

Re: C1 2-4bbl gaskets
Jeff,
Technical Service Bulletin, Nov. 8, 1956, suggested using two carb gaskets below each carburetor. This and other recommendations were in response to customer complaints of plulg fouling. Gaskets under the carbs will help isolate heat from reaching the the carb bowls. Regards,- Top

Re: C1 2-4bbl gaskets
Two gaskets also cures the clearance problem between the linkage lever on the passenger side of the front carb at idle - many of them touch the surface of the runner on the intake manifold with only one gasket.- Top
