I own a 1959 Corvette, and would like to start researching her previous owners as far back as possible. For those NCRS members that have already traveled down this road before me, where would you suggest I start? Unfortunately, the Corvette dealer from whom I purchased my Vette in 1998 has since gone out of business. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Since it's a 59, did it come with any reciepts at all when you purchased it? If so start there. If not, try contacting someone whom was connected with the dealership for a little Q AND A. Later posts by other members I am sure will aide you, good luck

If your car is still titled in the state where it originated, you may be able to chase its ownership history backward because most states titles show previous title number and the DMV will provide (for a fee, of course) previous title information. If it has crossed state lines (like mine) the previous title information may not be carried through. There is a risk associated with this however - If the car was ever stolen, that fact may come to light and the state will take it away from you.
