Midyear Clock Light

I noticed that the clock on my '63 is not as bright as the other gages at night (when the lights are on, of course). I asked around and found the same thing with other local midyear owners, including one '65 original owner. Should the clock be as bright or was there always a difference?

Richard - I never noticed if my clock was dim, but I just had the clock out and there are 2 bulbs that are part of the unit. If they are both operable, they should be at least as bright as any guage in the dash.

Checked my 65. The clock's about as bright as the other gauges.

Yes, the clock has two bulbs, so if one burns out, the clock will appear dim. I believe they are 1816s, like the other cluster illumination bulbs.
