Sagging 67 headliner

Any suggestions as to how to repair a sagging 67 coupe headliner? It is still in very nice condition, so I would prefer not to replace it. It just needs to be reattached to the foam backing in the roof. Thanks in advance for your help.

Forget fixing the headliner. The vinyl is still good but the foam is what has deteriorated. I have tried everything to renew. New foam, glue vinyl to fiber board and everything failed to produce a serviceable result.

It's tough not to use the good looking vinyl. I had a superb trim shop look at this also and they cannot do anything either. The old foam is the problem. Hard to remove and nothing will stick where it was when the temp gets hot.

Call Big Al in El Paso and spend $200!

I repaired my headliner some years back. I took the whole thing apart and removed the old foam. Then I went to a fabric shop and purchased some thin foam and glued it on using a fabric cement. Then I glued the vinyl to the foam. It still is working years later. Its worth a try...not much invested in materials and you may be able to make it look original.
