I've used Jack in the past and the cosmetics are nice, but I've never run the unit, so I don't have any real experience. Someone on another board prefers another restorer, but seems his backlog is a lot worse. Opinions?????
Who do you like to do a 62 fuel unit?

Re: Who do you like to do a 62 fuel unit?
I have found John DeGegory very helpful when I rebuilt my 62 fi .I bought all my parts from him and received help diagnosing problems before the rebuild .& he always had time to talk to me on the phone when I had questions.I think he is worth the wait ..Bill- Top

Re: Who do you like to do a 62 fuel unit?
I build FI units. Most of my knowledge about rebuilding them has been self taught, but the most important essentials have been taught to me by John DeGregory over the years. I have learned bits and pieces from others, which includes who NOT to do business with. Therefore, if I were going to have one built by someone else, it would ONLY be John DeGregory.- Top

Find past customers
Converse with people who have actually had work done, like Verle above.
Most FI rebuilders are competent and honest. However, there are some who are borderline in technical skills, and there are a couple who take advantage of their customers. You can find out who is who if you go to the trouble to ask around.- Top

I wasn't very clear
I was encouraging you to personally phone and talk to several people who have had units rebuilt (and run these units) rather than rely on second hand comments or someone's impression of a swap meet display. I doubt you'll see anything negative posted on the NCRS Board about any rebuilder.
If your mechanic had Jack Podell rebuild a Corvette FI unit and he personally saw it run beautifully when returned, then you're way ahead of me. I apologize for assuming you had not talked to a past customer.
I've never done business with Jack Podell, so I can't give you any first hand info about his work.- Top
