Re: some thing has changed on the website
Clem - I always click on the review your post entry, then, you can click return to index and it goe to the main thread. If you just sit there after you post, it always goes to the front of the tech section, which is why I always click o the review my post option. Not sure if has always been this way, but at least since I can recall....Craig- Top

Re: Web changes
I am not sure what you are talking about. I haven't posted that many messages in the recent past, but will use this message to test.
As far as amending Subject, this "Post Response" form included the subject from your post. Nothing here to amend.
I see what you mean about the change when the message is posted. I recently did an upgrade that included a Frames, No Frames change. I think this may be related to that change. I will work on finding out what changed. This is annoying.Administrator

Re: Web changes
Just as information, I've always used "frames", hardly ever use the "Preview" function except when I include a link in a response, and haven't seen any difference in site behavior from what it's always been in the past (if that helps your trouble-shooting any).- Top

Re: Web changes
Thanks John,
I almost always use preview so it did act up on me. I will try without preview to see if there is a difference.
How about that. It does make a difference. That does give me some more information to go on.Administrator

some thing did change on the website...
John, Clem, et al,
Smae thing happens to me when I post a reply. It automatically returns me to the top of the board. It didn't do this before, and I have made no chages to frames or anything else. I have no idea what frames are anyway, outside of for pictures on the wall.

Re: I made some changes
I have made some changes that may take care of the problem. Since I posted two messages, one with "Preview" and one without and it worked both times, it may be working. If anyone else has trouble let me know or reply to this thread. I will keep working on it till it is correct.
I also added a new little feature. It is kind of hidden, but if you will click on the Password Problems button at the top of the board. A new window will open up, in the third paragraph click on the Cookie Test. It will open a window with the results of your cookies. When you have trouble that you suspect might be cookie related you can test your cookie to see if it still says the same thing.Administrator

Web Changes
Guys,
For what it's worth..I noticed that I do in fact suffer the problem with the
subject title if I use Netscape as my browser, yet works fine with Explorer.
Could it be an issue with browser.
For example, this very post of mine came up with a subject title of "Caliper Rebuild" which was what I had responded to earlier in another post.
(this using Netscape 7.0)
The annoying thing about having to change subject titles is that half the time I forget what the hell I was talkin' about.
Have a Happy,Healthy and Safe 2003.

Any Other Netscape Users?
Anyone else using Netscape having this problem?
There is a new Browser in town as well. Opera which has been around for a long time is getting some pretty good press. I haven't tried it, but have heard of a few compatibility problems. If any one tries it let me know if you get any strange behavior.Administrator
