Could someone please tell me how to get a 'stubborn' wiper arm off? Thank You.

Go to your auto parts store and get a "wiper arm removal tool" - about five bucks, and worth every penny; makes it a snap to get the arm off the splined shaft without chipping paint, also makes it easy to re-install it and do it right the first time. See link below.
