C3 Headlight Cups George Dieterle

George I know you are working on a 69 but I checked the 73 I' m doing a frame off on with thease results as marked in the bags. I did find all the letters with a little cleaning.

A Left Outside

B Right Inside

C Right Outside

D Left Inside

This is what I found and hope they are marked right and was still where the factory put them as I have no way of knowing this for sure. I did compare them and they all seam to be different. I hope this helps .

1969 will be the same as 1973. The pieces are the same. And, yes, each of the 4 cups is different for each of the 4 positions..

Thanks Joe I hope my bag and tag method didn't get mixed up as the pattern dosen't seem easy for an assembly line.

I agree. Unfortunately, that's the part that I can't confirm at this time. However, it may be that the headlamp assemblies were otherwise identified for the assembly line. It's likely that the letter codes were used only for the sub-assembly (component) line at the Guide manufacturing plant.

I installed the headlight assemblies over the weekend before I read Lyle's posting. The location of the cups are exactly as stated by Lyle for his '73. The sequence is rather strange but they appear to be correct.
