For this application, 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive is just about as good as you can get. What's more, it's basically the same stuff used in PRODUCTION. GM specified a certain "neoprene solvent" adhesive for the weatherstrip application. That's what the 3M Super Weatherstrip Adhesive is.
Proper application is important, though. The surfaces must be clean and dry. Apply the weatherstrip adhesive to BOTH sides (weatherstrip and car body)and allow to "tack". Then, press the 2 surfaces together. In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top

If its something you might need to adjust use 3M weatherstrip adheasive it dries much slower and can be heated and moved later. super w/s adheasive is faster but dries hard & you cant adjust it later.Bill- Top
