C2 Hardtop headliner/interior frame color?

I just finished a 1965 convertible, 396/425 Nassau Blue, code 40 blue interior. I will start restoring the (not original) hardtop this month. I painted the outside to match the car. Do I paint the interior headliner the same as the interior, code 40 blue? What color should the inside frame parts be, also code 40 blue? Is there a date code mark for hardtops, if so where?

Dave:

The date (ink) stamp should appear on the inner side of the top fiberglass composite shell, same as the other body panels, and is not visible unless the headliner is removed. If your top is not original to the car, there is no telling what the date stamp will read.
The headliner and interior trim moldings are painted to match the interior color. The metal pieces get painted semiflat (code 40) blue.

They advertise in the Driveline. The hardtop rear window has a date code. Look in the lower driver's side corner. You will see a section that says "plexiglass" with the word "acrylic" under it. Then the code "AS4". None of which has anything to do with the date code! But you are now at the correct location to look for a letter to the bottom left of the aforementioned
and another letter to the top right of the aforementioned. Those two letters decode into a date of month and year. Now you need a chart to decode the two letters. I do not have that chart but I think Glassworks does. It has been published in the Restorer mag mut alas I do not know which month and year although I will guess at Aug 1977.
Interestingly, the 1965 had a couple of variations for the interior headliner material. Seems that for a short period of time there appeared a rough textured surface material usage. So if you see an odd ball interior surface as described you might take note.
