    '71 LT1 Valve Cover

    Hello,

Does the '71 LT1 use a rubber plug type oil filler cap or a twist lock like the '70s? I checked my older edition of the '70-72 JG and it does not say which type... Only that its on the left side....

Thanks in advance, Bob - 21991

    Bob----

The 71 LT-1 aluminum valve cover uses a rubber plug for the oil fill. This rubber plug has the word "OIL" in large letters within a circle at the perimeter of the cap. Part number was GM #3990994 (on the box) and 3989005(embossed on the inside of the cover).

Boy that must be an old manual. We have a new on out in the last 2 months. Check it out.
