C-3 Build sheet location other than fuel tank?

Im about to purchase a 1969 coupe as many of you probbaly know from some of my post to the board.
I was wondering if anyone has ever found a build sheet anywhere inside the car besides the good old Fuel tank??? this cars tank is gone.

Like on my C-4's they were stufed into the front frame rail....

I have heard some stories of these found behind the dash, just wondering if anyone has found one located elsewhere or if there is any truth to the dash lead????
I will be doing a full restoration on said car so Ill have an oportunity to check every nook and crany but I would like to think I have a chance at finding one!

    Thanks

The underdash is the most likely alternate location for a build sheet copy. Usually, if one is present, it will be tucked up under the steering column or on top of the heater box. I found one for my 69 above the steering column. However, they are not always present. St. Louis assembly instructions starting in 1967 called for placement of the build sheet copy on the top left side of the fuel tank. The other locations were entirely optional and subject to the whim of assemblers. Plus, if someone has ever "prowled" under your dash, the chances are that the sticker, if one was ever present, was removed and discarded.

      Hi Johnny,

found my build sheet (69 convertible VIN...12048) in the left front frame. There is a bigger hole near the steering gear on the outside of the frame. The sheet was stuffed about 10 inch to the rear.

      Hope it helps
      Klaus

I was replacing the headlight switch on my 71 and noticed a purple sheet of paper rolled up between the speedometer and tach. The purple is the carbon on the back of the white sheet. I almost missed it as I really wasn't looking for it at that particular moment. It was a Corvette Order copy. As mentioned the placement of these is random.
