I have seen many posts on this subject but never an answer. I would like to replace the tires on my 63 roadster. I would like to go with a radial tire something highway rated. I would like to find one with a 1" whitewall. Something that a least resembles the original style. Does anyone know who has such a tire? Coker has a radial tire with the red line and gold line but no 1" whitewall.

Go to www.tirerack.com and search under the 205/75R-15 size. There are about 50 listed, but you can narrow the choices by not including winter and non-speed
rated tires.
This size has very close to the same revs per mile as the OEM 6.70-15s. The OEM 5.5" wheels are adequate width, and I'm sure you'll find something with the whitewall style you want.

I used Michelin X tires. Not a high performance tire by today's standards but certainly a far superior tire to the OEM biasply tires from 1965. The whitewall is rather close to the original in appearance.Comment

try the michelin xwx 205/70vr/15..pricey but a great tire with vintage looks although "not correct"Comment
