    John---

It's a non-Corvette starting motor from about the 1964 time period. I'll research more later.

      Thanks Joe!

I forgot to list in the original post that this is a BB starter.

      This might help.

John, My "Mitchell" Interchange manual shows Pontiac 65-69 various326-350-400 "Light Duty ie two bbl, low comp. or similar applications. Maybe earlier use on same engine family, my book only goes back to '65

          John----

Starter GM# 1107293 would have been originally issued about 1964 or 65. However, I can find no Chevrolet passenger car reference for it at any time from 1963 until 1971. However, it could have been used in a truck application during 64-65.

Many GM starters were used in different car/truck lines and I did find one passenger car application for starter number 1107293 during the 1963 through 1971 time period. That application was 68-69 Pontiacs with V-8 engines. I believe that Pontiac starters were interchangeable with Chevrolet. In any event, the starter frame(the part with the stamped numbers) could have originally come from a Pontiac with other parts changed.

Bill, is correct, Hollander Interchange lists the same applications. Also, the stamping (1107293) should be on the opposite side because Pontiac starters were mounted on the left (drivers) side.......Bob - 21991
