SLOW SLOW SLOW..... Why is this Site so SLOOOOOOOW?

Hello Administrator.

Can someone please tell me why this site is sooooo Slow? It takes me about 20 seconds to open any page, and this has been this way for months now.

I know it is not my internet connection, as I am downloading over 25mbps, and my upload is over 50mbps. I do not have any trouble on any other websites, only this one. I am a former website designer, and have not seen sites this slow since the '90s, with 26kbps phone modems.

It is very frustrating, trying to read topics on the Forums, with having to wait 20 seconds to open each page.

Please fix this problem, or change your Hosting Plan.

I'm running just fine, no problems at all. Running Vista and IE 9. Do you have lots of active little cookies stealing time?

Have you cleaned your PC lately or ran a full virus or malware scan ? If not, recommend you do so. It's not a NCRS website server problem.

Average page load time is less than 2 seconds per Google Analytics.

Unfortunately, I own Apple laptops. I have been using Apple computers for 25 years now. I know these machines well, and do not have any viruses or malware on either laptop. I am running a MacBook Air as well as a MacBook Pro now.

I use Mozilla Firefox, Chrome and Safari as my 3 browsers on both laptops. I can watch any movie on Netflix in real time, without any delays. I can open any US website without a delay also. I read Japanese news online every day without delays as well.Your site is the ONLY site that has delays for me. Even just opening NCRS.org is a major pain in the rear. Just your front page takes me 20 seconds to open, on either laptop, on any of my 3 browsers.

I clear out my cache about once per hour, and delete all of my history and cookies every morning. I really do know my laptops and the Mac OS well. When I am home, I view over 1000 web pages per day, so that is why I am constantly clearing my cache.

I have seen this type of problem 10 years ago with another website server. It did not like Macs for some reason, so the IP Host did some tweaking, and the problem was resolved. My Internet Provider is Hotwire Communications out of PA.

Ok, I think I just discovered the problem. It is the communication between your Server and Hotwire Communications. I use a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 phone, and I just tried opening NCRS.org on my phone, while at home, using WiFi. It also took about 20 seconds to open. When I turned off the WiFi connection, and used my 4G Verizon connection, the page opened immediately. I will call Hotwire now, and see what they can possibly do on their end and let you know.

You can always do a Tracerte or ping test and check the server response times. As well as check page load times on Google and other test websites.

FWIW, I know of multiple MACs that have had a virus or Malware in the last couple of years.

There seems to be a DNS problem between Hotwire and your servers. I have seen this type of problem before, and with an adjustment from the Tech people at Hotwire, this should be fixed within 24 hours.

I did have a Trojan Horse virus on an Apple desktop computer back in 1998, but have not had any viruses since then. (knock on wood, lol.)

I will keep you udpated as to the progress and hopefully good results from Hotwire.

you can always temp. set your DNS to 4.4.4.4 and test to see if that solves it (Google DNS)
