Names are required to give everyone ownership of what they post. Other boards that use handles instead of names have to fold up shop after a while because of all of the nasty posts. When people are identified by what they post they tend to behave a lot better.

I believe that when our assigned number and first name are given that is enough info no more is required administrator can deal with wrongfull posts. or don't let non members in to look at posts

At this point there would be a ton of custom software that would need to be reconfigured. We have been using this format for over two years. Very few members have even commented on it.

I am only asking that this be looked at in the future. We are in a different world now for the worst. I see frauds etc. Looking out for members welfare . I would expect with the demographics of age it wouldn't seem to be preceived as a problem . I guess I will have to end my membership on this board if I can't change my personal info. THX

There is no obligation for you to display any information about your car(s) in your profile. Why not remove it if you are worried?

I note also that you've registered your car (including complete VIN and options) on the C2 Registry, might want to remove that also.

Anyway this post may as well end as their seems to be no interest or concern about a point I brought up. I thought this was the area to have a open mind and discussion. Thanks all. Have a good one . John you may as well take my post off as it doesn't serve any purpose.

I don't thing calling attention to the fact of identity theft and nefarious activities associated with the Internet and Telemarketers and Mail Fraud before that is not relevant.

The subject has been raised before and it will be raised again. Maybe some day we will have to make a change of some sort. At this time with the work load we have and the small amount of interest it is not going to make the front page of the to do list.

FWIW, the NCRS Board of Directors in 2008 set the format for the Technical Discussion Board forum logon User Name as; First Name Last Name (NCRS#).
