Okay, I've posted to a thread; a return post is made; I punch the "unsubscribe" option shown on the NCRS site; I get a message that a wrong form.id or net.id was used and I cannot be disconnected or used.
Is this a new rule - "Once you're here, you're here forever.".
Seems to fit..

Then perhaps you have never posted to an existing thread; one where later someone replies to the thread - no necessarily to your message; your e-mail will receive a copy of this response, offering a choice of a reply or of NOT receiving further copies of further responses in that thread. Not receiving further responses was what I chose - apparently no longer allowed.

Click on 'user profile' then

'settings & options' then

'edit options' then

'messaging and notification' then

'default thread subscription mode' then

pull down to 'no mail notification'

you won't be bothered anymore.........
