    Hi,

If you have posted the photo before, I have heard others say you need to rename it to post again.

To post a photo, scroll down to "additional options" and select "manage attachments". Select manage attachments and new window opens. If the photo is on your computer you select browse to locate it, select the photo & click open. Then select "upload". You should see a new line with your photo name & the option to remove. Click close window and you will be back to the message window & all you need to do is submit reply.

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Dennis

Re: trying to post picture in thread.

Gentlemen, please read the photo posting FAQ's for how to post a previously posted photo. Would like not to have the same photos posted multiple times when it can be linked to. It's easier than renaming a photo. Gary....

      Photo FAQ's link: https://www.forums.ncrs.org/faq.php?...nly=0&uid=8540

Here's the excerpt on posting a previously posted photo that John wrote up:
How do I post a photo that I have posted before in a new message? Go to User Profile, then select Attachments from the Miscellaneous menu on the lower left hand side. Find the picture that you want to use in the original post. Then right click on it. Select Copy Image Location. Then go to the new message and then click on the Picture Icon . In the box that pops up click Ctrl-v or use mouse right button to paste the location into the post like this. It is best to use the Preview Post button to insure that the picture is what you expect it to be. If all is good then go to the Submit button.

        Don,

You bring up two issues. First your trying to post a photo that you have posted before. I think Gary answered this one just fine.

The second issue is you can't see many posts and you can't search the archives. That one I don't understand. Are you really not able to do a search, or are you just frustrated because of the photo not uploading for you? Have you changed your preferences in some way that changed your view of posts?

This is a problem that I have not seen before for users.

Can you be a little more precise in your description. A screen shot of what you see would be helpful.

Don, link to a photo you previously posted following John's how to instructions. Go to your User Profile and select the attachment you want to post. Select "Copy the location". Create your new post, click on the yellow square box and paste the link in. Gary....

If you don't get what Gary suggested, what error are you getting? What is the name of the file you are trying to upload?

Re: trying to post picture in thread.

                John--

                i do the following.
                1. click on user profile
2 select the proper attachment from the list or pictures
                3. find the picture
now here is where it goes astray. instructions say select copy image location. I have gotten at this pioint after the right click a menu of about 20 things. . I have been clicking on copy.
the next instruction says go to the new message. I try back clicking but just get a note that the message has expired. If I go out and then go into the discussion board and find the thread and open it. and start the answer and click on the picture icon nothing hapens

I think that my starting point is wrong . It seems that I should have to at least start the reply to thresad to kick it off and then do the other things. I did get the box at one point which asks for a url but I cant get it to respond with control v.

I think that I seem to have the whole basic starting point wrong. It would appear that once i go to the new message.(by going put and starting over) that I lose the whole thing.

Don, here's how I post a previously posted photo. Gary....
1 - reply to post with text
2 - leaving the post open, page up to the top and click on "User Profile"
3 - select "attachments" on the bottom left hand side
4 - put cursor on link of photo (DO NOT OPEN photo), right click mouse and select "copy image location"
5 - back arrow back to my reply
6 - click on the little yellow icon "insert image" on the format bar
7 - right click mouse button & paste the photo URL into the window box
or you can click on "User Profile", do step #3 & 4, then select the post and make your reply, then do step #6 & 7

                    Don,

What are you trying to post? I see that you start off by going to User Profile. Who's User Profile? Yours or another poster's? What are you trying to copy from a profile?

Do you mean you are going to another message? Do you want to copy a picture that is in another thread?

Help us to understand what you want to do and we may be of more help.
