    NCRS CD stopped working

My 61-62 NCRS CD has stopped working. When I search by topic it returns no articles. When I search by issue, every issue returns the message "sorry this issue contains no articles for the 61-62 cars".

Computer is HP running Vista. CD is NCRS61_62 dated 6/21/2006 3:40AM.

    Any thoughts will be appreciated.

I copied mine onto my hard drive and don't use the CD anymore. It works a lot better that way and is much faster and quieter.

I had the same problem with my new computer with VISTA. At Corvettes at Carlisle I asked at the NCRS booth. They gave me a fix it to type in and now it works. I do not still have the fix it but give them a call. It is some sort of security built in to the VISTA that you have to bypass

Vista and some of the newer O/S's perform automated updates that seem to corrupt your SW drivers at times. For example, I downloaded Apple's iTunes on my Vista system just yesterday and totally corrupted my CD/DVD drive. I had to go into the system registry's to correct - not fun.

          Hi Everyone,
I'm betting that the CD "stopped working" when you switched to Microsoft Vista...?

In Microsoft's war to make their programs as secure as possible- Vista and the program that runs the CD don't get along well. The CD tries to access some dll (as I remember) files, and Vista doesn't like that, even though it's harmless.

          Easy workaround...
          1. Right click on the executable file (.exe) on the CD-rom.
          2. Run the program as "Administrator" (or some very similar choice).
          3. Ignore Vista's dire warnings of the world coming to an end.
          4. Have fun using the info on the CD.

          Best,
          Eric Mortimer

            Eric
The problem I had on Vista with the CD, was to change the screen size(bigger I think). The problem was changing the computer screen size back,as I was no longer able to use the change button. As a result,I have not used the disk since. I hate to admit this, but I have very little skill on this machine.
