    Guys I gotta tell y'all......... I ain't happy

This new format is EXCELLENT, and way past due, but there's too much publicly displayed information required now. I don't like AT ALL having my full name and location displayed on the internet. The internet is ABSOLUTELY FULL of whor*s and identity thieves, and with all of the search mechanisms available this is an identity theft situation waiting to happen. First name and NCRS number............ that's fine, but full name and location, UNACCEPTABLE.

I'm co-Administrator of a high perf boat website with over 35000 registered members (and we use V-Bulletin also, which is the best there is in my opinion) but wouldn't even consider requiring members to publicly display information that makes them easily findable by anyone who views the website.

You raise a great point. Would like to hear from others as to their thoughts.

I have no problem at all. I use my full name everywhere (CF, eBay, registries, etc., etc.). It seems that youngsters have much less problems with privacy related issues, e.g. using FaceBook, MySpace, Hyves, etc.

        greetings,
        Rob.

I agree that it could be uncomfortable posting so much info......but with a web site advertising my business address, phone, etc. it's all available anyway. I get on average 200-300 spams a day and a few phone calls. As you probably already know, there are a lot of great spam filters available and subcribing to the national do-not-call list helps a lot. Leaving out the birth date on this site helps too, although all you have to do is Google someone for that.
Nearly impossible to totally prevent id theft if it's going to happen. Just make sure banks, credit cards companies, etc. have good security, with double or triple backup systems to get into them.
If you use the web at all......it's all pretty much out there.
            Cheers, Sandy

I don't have a problem the the information, presently used. Other than a person's social security number, I simply haven't seen a major issue, and I do hundreds of internet transactions every month.
Think of the times per day, that a person uses their credit card over the internet. Probably totals in the millions, per day, and yet, theft is minimal in the sceme of things. Just my 2 cents, which is worth exactly what you paid for the comment. Ridge.

                  Harry,

Your phone number is not public so there is no need to change it...

                  greetings,
                  Rob.
