Jimmy, check the FAQ's. Basically page down from where you post the test and click on "Manage Attachments". Select browse and go to to the file location on your PC and select the image you want to post. Photos are limited in size to 95kb. It it's larger than that use you camera software or a photo resizer to adjust the file size. Gary....

        Re: Posting Pictures

The above link is a nice way to store photos on Photo Bucket, but with our new Technical Discussion Board the days of having pictures hosted on other servers is over.

One of the many reasons for adopting the new format was to be able to have pictures posted here that would stay with the posts for ever. We are after all preservationists at heart.

Really many of the photos of our parts and projects are great learning aids for all of us on the Technical Discussion Board.

Please upload them as Attachments. When you are posting a message and would like to include a picture just click on the Paper Clip in the Icons at the top of the little word processor window. That will allow you to upload your picture to our server and it will be linked to your message from then on. Please read the FAQ about this and other topics. It will only take about 10 minutes to read the whole FAQ, and will save you a lot more time than that in the long run.

John, Thanks for the explanation of the "pictures features" of the new Technical Discussion Board. Sure makes using this board and sharing info much easier and secure.

I tried uploading attachements a few times today. Every time it would tell me that I was over by 75-95MB, which is kinda tough for a 70KB picture.
I gave up and just hosted it on another site, linking into my post. I had even tried closing my browser, cleaning my cache, and restarting my computer. No go - I got the same error here.

So, I'm not sure that the days of hosting elsewhere are "over" - at least not until all the kinks are worked out.

                    Re: Posting Pictures

We are currently importing all the archive pictures. This is causing your grieve because I keep on hitting the max. attachment size. As soon I've finished the upload we will export them all to the filesystem which should solve your problem. I hope tomorrow everything is normalized... Sorry for the inconvinience!

                    greetings,
                    Rob.
