I've been experimenting with our new Search Functions. You nay notice some odd results in your searches based on certain keyword selection and option choices. vBulletin has sparse information on the subject, other than their "Search Tips".
Here are some screenshots to get you started. It may be best to select Advanced Search for best results, particularly if you want a chronologically dated order of the results. Using the Basic search defaults with results to "Relevance", meaning it's own internal decision of ordering, with no regard to date order.
Note that the Boolean functions are available, AND, OR, NOT(-). The default when multiple keywords are entered is "AND". I've included several examples below.
When selecting Titles Only in your search, DO NOT use all 3 Boolean function terms in the same Keyword field. There is a bug which yields a error with no results.
This is a Work-In-Progress. If you have other details please feel free to add your findings. At some point this may be added to our FAQ page.
I'm also trying to understand if wildcards and quoted strings are allowed. I've experimented a bit with these options but seem to get inconsistent results. If I get better results or vBulletin confirmation I'll add that information here.
