    Members vrs Guest visitors

Just happen to notice the "who's online" stat and curious how there could be so many guest visitors? Never seen that kind of differential.

Here is another one. Why all the guests or is this a meaningless number, i.e. a a bug?

      Thomas,

TDB is new software and more than likely the high guest numbers are bots reindexing topics for their search engines results.

Got it. Hard to stop that without a firewall. We had the same problem on my company sites and ended up blocking most indexing bots except for Google. Easy to do when you self hosted which is probably not the case with NCRS.

you might be able to tie the counters to the home page after authorization - just a thought or not show the guests counter at all.

          Thomas,

NCRS TDB has always had a large "Guest" viewing audience. Some are members who don't sign in to check latest posts. Other's are non members who want the NCRS experience without being a member.

Search BOTS are good for NCRS as they helps spread the NCRS word.

            Tom,

FYI - the total number of guests is a count of guest sessions, not individual guests. So, if a guest clicks on a Post, that's 1 session. Then if they go to another Post, that 2 sessions, so on and so forth.
