I'm in the process of trying to trace back the owners and dealer of my 1969 L71.
I've spoken to 3 of the previous owners so far and they were very surprised and happy to hear from me. They all remember the car and are able to describe it to a "T".
The car was apparently sold originally by a dealership in Virginia.
Anyways, I paid the money for the NCRS report for the Original selling dealer report quite a while ago (over a month?) and I've yet to receive any word.
Any idea how long this process works?
I've emailed with no reply and I've tried calling 3 different days and each time no answer. I did leave a message however with no return call back.
The 3rd owner of my car is a past president of the Corvette Club of America and he actually said he had all the original paperwork when he sold the car around 1987 but that it went with the sale of the car.
He said he will write a letter of provenance regarding the car and it's authenticity.
The 2nd owner said he would also write a letter.
Interestingly, both fellows said the car had "factory sidepipes" but in looking over the car I found no evidence of them being factory. (evidence of what folks on here said to look for)
Curious what some of you think about this and does it help in anyway since I have no documentation?
