    63-64 Judging Guide

    Hey guys,
Just wondering when the 6th Edition came out. It seems as though it has been out for quite a while. Is the 7th due out before too long?
    Aloha,

    NVMD....I found it. 2012.
Next question....has there not been enough needed changes yet to warrant the next edition. Six years seems a bit longish between editions. I'm interested in (among other things) the current judging mindset of the total blackout -versus- none for the chassis. Thanks

Irby, it's been discussed, pictures of 63 and 64 total blackout have been published, that's the way to go if your want original, Judging, good luck ?

Drove the 64 over 5000 miles to three Regionals and the San Jose National, one dust storm and 40 lbs of bugs!

This is a topic that the manual and some of the information shared by Mike Hanson on this site do not seem to agree on. IMHO and original cars that were in my garage suggest Mike has explained it as it should be.

been discussed adnaseum and the NTL needs to determine along with NJC when and if another TIM&JG is warranted. Ya'll need to remember the 1963-64 manual was the FIRST to come out with colored pictures and all the addendums, with the other years playing catch-up

The first color manual produced but truly not authorized was the 80-82. The first authorized complete color manual was the 70-72 manual.

The subject is 63-64 manual. Who cares about color pictures if the content is erroneous?

Uh, I don't have a colored 70-72 manual here at Mason Dixon and I am the Judging Chair - and have been for some time............

I would like to see the total blackout for 63-64's back in the Judging guide. I purchased a 33k mile 64 Coupe last year. This car has original paint, interior, drivetrain and chassis. I am in the process of cleaning up the chassis for the Scottsdale Regional coming up. This is my 3rd 64. All have showed mild to extensive blackout on the chassis parts. There is no doubt in my mind that these cars came of the line with a little to a lot of blackout. Check out the pic of one of my half shafts. I have yet to even touch this one with any cleaners.
