I'm relative new to the restoration process and have found this site extremely helpful for technical help. I also have all the neccesary books an manuals for my 63. There's often a need for an illustration or photo for reference and there are plenty throughout the forum.

is there an existing way or could there be a filter option to seach topics that include attachments?

Thank for your suggestion. The software only indexes the threads and posts. The vBulletin software can not index the photos by topic/subject matter. Indexing photos would me there would have to be a "standard" title format used for the photos/attachments file names.

You can sort down the threads by clicking on the 63-4 year model icon that prefixes a thread. This will sort and present all threads that use the 63-4 year model icon.

Thanks for the reply. I have some programming and database background. I realize and understand the limitations of off-the-shelf software. When a file or image is uploaded a flag is likely set to let the database know there is an image or file associated with the the post. The post id is associated with a reference to those images and when the post appears on the forum you will see an icon which links to thse images.

The radio buttons used to desginate the vehicle year of your post is another way to do this but you can only select one of them. Does the software have the ability to allow the selection of more than one radio button?

How does the tag option affect the filtering? Can the tags be used in the advanced search to further drill down on a search?

The photo is indexed with an attachment index number that has no meaning to the subject matter. As stated the file names would have to include some relevance to the subject matter in order to be used to as search criteria. Yes, the post/thread ID is associated with an attachment, but there's no way to search individually on attachments.

Search information is contained in the FAQ's. https://www.forums.ncrs.org/faq.php Select "Searching Forums and Threads". In addition to the Forum search function, you can search the site using a site Google search accessible from the upper right hand of most pages above the menu bar.

Year Model icons are used singularly to search for threads/posts on that particular year model. If you want to do multiple year model searches, you can customize your search criteria following the search information spelled out in the FAQs.
