Tech Info Manual & Judging etc. Forum

Could you please give me a quick explanation for the purpose of this Forum? Can any NCRS member use it and when should it be utilized if open to general membership.
    Thanks

Thanks Harry, that was the thread I knew was out there but could not find. Explanation for it's use is pretty clear.
Now if I am unsatisfied with info in JM as well as explanation for reason it is in JG do I have any other option other than make entry in general Tech Discussion Forum?

Contact the Team Leader responsible for the year you are concerned about. All their names and contact information is listed in the Contact section of the Tech. Board.

Understand all the basic procedures etc. did that already but still not satisfied with explanations. Have progressed to level of "show me your proof" and I will present mine. If you are wondering if I am am questioning the "experts" the answer is an unequivocal YES !

            David,
sorry about my now deleted previous message. I just realized your question concerned the TIM&JG forum specifically. It is not an open forum that anyone but the NJC can post in. The NJC posts in it to broadcast modifications to the JGs. It's purpose is not for debating judging matters. Technical issues and specific judging matters are discussed all the time in the Technical Discussion Board. As Harry said, any changes in the JGs are initiated by the NTLs to the NJC after concerns are brought to them by members of the club. As you were told, the creators of the guides want pretty solid evidence before any change is initiated.

Thanks Don, for a little more clarification. It seems to me that members are not allowed to comment until a decision has already been reached, which may be a little "ass backward". All I am looking for at this time is an explanation of why the JM has certain information printed as fact. In other wards, how did the "creators" reach the conclusion printed in the latest JG version. As a ("old JG member, 1st edition version etc.") now normal inquisitive member I would love to see the solid evidence they have. Personally, I should have questioned 20 years ago but I was not that smart, still not that smart but now want to be sure it is correct before I meet "the great Assembler".
P.S. The explanation I have received is rather weak, I know there a very knowledgeable people and a lot of cars have been judged BUT where is the GM proof?

                    David,
I think it all boils down to the best information available in the opinion of the concerned NTL and the NJC. You know that the JGs are produced by groups of the best "experts" in the club who are willing to devote the time to the project. I don't think anyone tries to say (well maybe some do) that the info in the guides is absolute. It has been identified as the best information that is known, and can be substantiated. I would say that you might want to write or call one of the contributors to a JG who you know that worked on the aspect you are concerned about. For instance, I know that Tony Stein and Marco Hartner have updated the Chassis section of the soon to be released 1965 TIM &JG. They enjoy discussing what is detailed in the JG and why it is there. I'm sure other members of other JG revision teams feel the same way and would be happy to discuss with you. The names of the revision committee members are written inside the front cover of each JG I believe.
