suggestion for webmaster

on the VCCA chat room, when i get a new private message, this is brought to my attention by the "private message" area flashing contrasting colors off and on. would it be possible for this site to do the same, thus negating the need to check the private messages every time one comes back to this site? thanks for all u do john. mike

There is a pop-up when you have a new private message when you come to the forum and there's also another indicator of a new private message but since I have CRS I can't recall what it is.

Will send you a private message as a test.

Got your PM notification pop-up when I came back to the forum - see screenshot below.

This pop-up will only happen when your not in the forum and then go to the forum.

This is the best we can do.

I never get the PM popup on this forum since the new black format came on board. If I don't consciously look for a PM, I have no clue that one arrives.

It's a default - don't know why it doesn't work for you.

I got Mike's pop-up when I went from the Help Forum to the Main forum page www.forums.ncrs.org/

Check your Profile / General Settings / PM Notifications - see screenshot below.

The default setting is for a pop up message to be presented when you log in if there is a private message waiting for you. This hasn't always been the case so if your profile was created before the change you will need to go into your profile and change the setting as Gary shows.

thanks john and gary. think i got it. you all need to state that one must click on the User profile, not my profile, to get into the settings. thanks guys, mike
