Google search for "NCRS"

I was wondering if anyone else is having this problem. Until a few days ago, when I typed "NCRS" into the Google search bar the first link was always to our site. There would be sub links to this forum and a few others under the main link. Then something changed. Now the first link is "Home NRCS" (National Resources Conservation Center), then Delaware Valley chapter NCRS (Hemmings), NCRS Cincinnati (facebook), and so on, but no NCRS. I've tried this search many times in the last couple of days, always with the same results. I was thinking that maybe my DNS server was somehow corrupt, but then I remembered that I was initiating the search through Google's server so it's not a DNS resolution issue on my side.

Anybody know anything about this?

if you are looking for an answer to this question from the IT support team, please submit a Help Desk Ticket.
I will tell you that if I search NCRS in google, I too get pages of responses for websites that have NCRS in their name
but have nothing to do with NCRS.org.

Google controls who's listed first and it depends on if they buy placement ads from Google and how many hits the particular website has.

Nothing NCRS can do about being listed first on Google search returns without paying big bucks.

Recommend book marking NCRS www.ncrs.org rather than using Google to find the NCRS website

All we can do is to make sure NCRS is not blocking the Google crawlers, which is how Google indexes websites

The funny thing is, this just started happening only about a week ago. I have always used Google to get to NCRS and it was always very straightforward. Type in NCRS and get NCRS. Not anymore. There are a lot of ways to solve the problem (bookmark, add a favorite link, etc.) but what about those people out there who are new to corvettes and go searching for NCRS for the first time. They might have a hard time finding us. Hopefully, over time, this issue will straighten itself out.

I came a cross the exact same thing. I thought it was just my poor computer skills, or I was doing something wrong. At least now I know it's not just me.

I did send feedback to Google about the problem. I doubt that it will have any effect with them, but we'll see.

Just did a search in YAHOO and links for a number of chapters showed up before NCRS.org!

Does this mean "NCRS.org" is part of the Deep Web? Does that make sales from the on-line Driveline part of the Dark Web? (Smiley)

(Can't do an emoticon from my ipad with the above tool bar. )

On a more practical note, most NCRS Chapter web pages have links to the National organization page so finding NCRS.org would not be too difficult for interested parties. Still the change is puzzling.

When google accessed the page (obviously without logging on) it was blocked by the classified ad user authentication module which was unrightfully executed in the code...
