One of my NCRS customers was able to obtain the original sales invoice for his 66 roadster by contacting L J Marchese Chevrolet Inc ,the dealership that bought out A and C Chevrolet of Fort Montgomery NY. If your car came from A and C give Marchese Chevrolet a call at 845-977-4141 and ask nicely.It is very rare to find a company that has kept its records and even rarer to find one that will take the time to share them.

Curious....Is Marchese Chevrolet working with John Chiarella, or do they in fact have all of John's records that he's had in his barn in NH since he sold the dealership back in the 70's? John and I spoke about that avout 10 years ago. John was the "C" in "A & C". His father-in-law and grandfather-in-law owned the business from the 20's IIRC. John came in later when he married the daughter and became one of the biggest Corvette sales leaders in the 50's and beyond. He once told me that he got a call from Chevrolet Sales once, to see if he would take a few off their hands. He said how many do you have? I think he told me they said something like 50. He said...."Send me all of them". We'd talk for hours about his Corvette sales over the many years at A & C. He once told me he had 1953 Corvette #3 in his showroom at one time. Not sure about that one though.

p.s. I know John well. We lived in the same town, and he was a Realtor that we worked with on a few occasions. His Real Estate office is layered with photos of Corvettes that he sold to the Cadets at West Point over the years. He was going to bring me over to show me all of his paperwork collection and NOS Chevy parts from the 20's-up in his barn. His wife got ill and we never were able to get together. Then I moved to FL from NH and the only time we spoke was when he sold some property I owned then. That was about 7 years ago.

Rich, I was not involved in the actual procurement of the document . I was contacted to do a history search for a C2 .The owner happened to mention that he was given the original paperwork as detailed to my original post. I just passed it along to the NCRS membership through a post, and Roy Sinor went back through his records to alert anyone he knew whose car had come from that dealership. Bill Gould
