Hi all.
I received the Shipping data Report for my 62, and am starting the paper chase on details of my beauty.

Of course, being located in Australia isn't helping things much ;-)

Does anyone know of this dealer? it had a dealer code of 403, in Zone 7, and Google maps and street view shows the building still exists, but it is sadly vacant.

I found a post in a local Tyler blog about it being bought out by a man called Peltier in 2005, and there is a Peltier Chevrolet in Tyler. They have a daytime number, but no email address or fax number which I need given the 10 hour time difference.

Any contact details of any old time employee for King Chevrolet would be most handy.

Thanks for chasing this down for me Rick.
I've managed to get contact with someone with Peltier, but I'm not confident that they would have kept any of the King Chev records...we shall see.

Unfortunately, given the King Chev is no longer in Business, this contact details are no longer valid.

Paul , I have spoken to Jack King in Tyler recently concerning a 67 Corvette that I am researching. Jack tells me that there are no old records in existence. I do have the names of three or four local car guys who have Corvettes and there is always a small chance that they will remember the car . This may not help much, but here's a '65 warranty booklet I got off eBay; it's for a Nova V8 auto, 2-door, sold at King Chevrolet Co. There's a signature on the "dealer's authorized representative" line, and it looks like it could be Margaret Landreau. Amazing that the buyer never used any of the service coupons.

Also, my '65 convertible was owned for a few years by a "Danny Mathis" of Tyler. I visited in the early '90s to get pictures, history, etc. At that time he was working for a local car dealer, although can't remember if it was King or not. The city is not that big, so the more people you contact, (especially Corvette people) the better your chances are.

I could give you a more precise address of D. Mathis, if you're interested. As well, in Tyler there is (was ?) a D & H Motors that owned my car for a while in the mid-80s; also a Dave Hollis, who did some body work on it. Another is Phil Sloan used cars, also Tyler, who had some Corvettes.
