Just received my Shipping Data Report for my '68 today. I quickly ran into a brickwall with my Google search. Does anyone know of Gavin Chevrolet or has information about the dealership? The SDR says Dealer Code 216 in Zone 44. Thanks for any help.

Got a little info. William Gavin was the president. They formed in December of 1968. Address was possibly 4600 N. M-37 HWY in Middleville. Thomas Gavin was also listed on some more recent dealer documents. They may still operate as a business in Michigan. Possibly a trailer sales ??? I will PM you a phone number listed for William Gavin on some Michigan documents. See ya.

Thanks for all the information. I will try to make contact. If the dealership formed in December of '68, I wonder how he was able to sell my Dec '67 built '68. Maybe he will have some insight.

I believe that prior to being Gavin Chevrolet-Buick-Pontiac the dealership was known as Verlinde Chevrolet-Buick-Pontiac. It was owned by Leo Verlinde of Middleville and his son Jim Verlinde, now living in Grand Rapids. You might be able to contact Jim Verlinde and see if any old dealership records still exist.

I also have a 68 from this dealer. All i was able to find was the same picture that is posted. Let me know if you have any luck? John
