Re: Mckeown-phalin chevrolet, glen ellyn, il.
I am having a hard tim finding that exact dealer name in the Illinois system. I did fin record of a Mckown - Trompeter Chevrolet in Glen Ellyn. They operated until 1982. They evolved into Bill Bolger Chevrolet through 1989. Current dealer is Jerry Haggerty Chevrolet. Owner / Pres is GERARD J HAGGERTY 300 W ROOSEVELT RD GLEN ELLYN 60137. Haggeryt Auto Group. Sorry I don't have more than that to share at this point. I will keep snooping.Tom Hendricks

Hi Tom, thanks for checking. I'm new to "threading" so I just lost my first reply to you. I will try to send this just to test the system. Thanks for your patience, Richar.- Top

Re: Mckeown-phalin chevrolet, glen ellyn, il.
Tom: Here's my second attempt at covering what I think I know at this point. My NCRS dealer shipping info shows my '63 coupe sold new at McKeown-Phalin Chev.. From www.yenko.com I saw that McKeown closed about 1987, replaced by Jerry Haggerty Chev. about 1988. I contacted Haggerty and was informed by email that they had "no records from the Mckeown days." Since the dealer well looks dry I thought about trying to find other McKeown chevy owners who may already have done research. These folks don't have to be Corvette owners, any Chevy owner might go on a dealer search. One interesting comment from the Yenko.com site in 2006 was a person who says he had his car in at McKeown for work and got to go into the storage room where he found 20 yrs. of records and lots of dealer promotional stuff. He bought some promo items and left the records! I'm in Ca. so a visit to Il. is not possible at the moment. Thanks again, good hunting.- Top
