Anyone remember this dealership also had a dealership in Battle Creek from what I can find. Dealer Code 84 in zone 45. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike

I think I might be answering my own question but here goes: I just spoke with a Tood Denooyer owner of Denooyer Chevrolet in Kalanazoo Mi who says they were the Chevrolet dealership listed as Dendoyer Brothers in 1965. Has the NCRS got the name wrong? He had to go so I didn`t get to ask many questions but ask me to call back later and he would have more time to talk with me. Anyone know of either one? Thanks Mike

Mike, I was indeed Denooyer. They were around in 1965. Looks like they were around in the 40's too. Address may have been 353-377 Portage.

Mike, I was indeed Denooyer. They were around in 1965. Looks like they were around in the 40's too. Address may have been 353-377 Portage.

Thanks Tom! Did the NCRS Misread the name? Should we ask Roy? They are currently at 5800 Stadium Drive but the lady that answered the phone told me they had moved since 1965. I ask them was there dealership code 84 in zone 45 and she said it was not. I will find out what it actually is when I call back. Have they changed over the years. They also owned a dealership in Battle Creek if I am not mistaken. Anyway my car came from the Kalmazoo location according to the NCRS I just received. Hopefully I will find out a little more when I call them back. Thanks again for the picture. Mike

IIRC it started out with Dad and then two sons. One stayed down by Kalamazoo and the other moved a bit north here to Holland. The Holland dealership has been in the same place 50 years, but KZoo has moved as they said. The Holland dealership is now run by the grandson and great-grandchildren of the one who started it all in Kalamazoo.

I suspect that the paperwork that the NCRS has is DeNooyer, but difficult to read.

Hi Michael, I think you may have called yesterday as well.

Our original location was on 353 Portage Rd., Kalamazoo, Mi. and we have been the Chevrolet Dealer in Kalamazoo since 1943. We are located in the Chevrolet North Central Region and our Chevy dealer code is:44-070.
My guess is that the NCR has it as a "typo".

The current name of the store is DeNooyer Chevrolet Inc., the legal entity is: DeNooyer Brother's Inc.

Our current address is: 5800 Stadium Dr., Kalamazoo, MI., 49009

Sorry, Our records only go back 7 years, so I do not have any records for the original owner. If I come across any old photos, I will try to scan them and e-mail them to you.

Roy Over the last year the spelling has reverted back to the incorrect spelling of Denooyer which is correct back to Dendoyer which is incorrect? Wonder why? You fixed it back when this post was fairly recent but something has happened. Mike
