69 L88 Sold new at Messick Chev, PA

Does anyone remember a Maroon 69 L88 Coupe that was sold new at Messick Chevrolet in Ephrata PA. The car may have been drag raced. It was equipped with a 4:56 rear end.

Does anyone know someone who may have worked at the Dealer in the Late 60's

Thanks Tom, I'll try that number after work. I'm trying to see how close that Dealer was to the local drag strips. I also sent some Emails to some of the local Car clubs and Corvette clubs last night.

Any of you guys from PA remember a 66 Red 427 Convertible?

Running the paths from Philadelphia area, Langhorne, or???

Mason Chevy or Mason Chev-Olds,

Reedman Motors had the car at some time, sold 8-4-1969 perhaps to Clearfield aand then it went west to Selinsgrove, 1972 or 1973.

I know Joe Demesy (TX) owns/owned a 69 Maroon L88 coupe. I believe he bought it from Sandy Brannon (sp?) (OK). Not sure where the car was originally sold or what the rear gear ratio is.

I'm sure Drew knows more about it and others.

Joe - been there done that numerous times. Given that every now and then new PA car searchers show up its a good time to ask.

It is really strange that no one knows given the dealer size and popularity of that area in the day for purchasing these cars.

That 1969 Maroon L-88 coupe has 4.11 rear axle ratio.
The car sold new at Chevrolet dealer in Ohio.

Hello Joe,
1969 Corvettes with N-14 side mounted exhaust. They started building cars this option on January 10, 1969 to the end of production.

Thanks Drew, As you know, the car does have under car exhaust. I have not found any evidence that it had side pipes at anytime.

Thanks to Tom Hendricks, I spoke to the owner of Messick Chevrolet last night. The dealership burned to the ground in the mid 70's and he never rebuilt it. Along with that went all his files and history. His memory was weak and did not remember any of the Corvettes that the dealer sold. I also had a tough time getting him to remember any salesman from the past.

I guess my search will continue elsewhere.
