Information about the car in a shipping report

When i recived the shipping report of my car i thought it might say a little about the car as well. If it was with a special high performance engine, tinted glass and so on.

I suppose there is no way to find out that if you dont get in touch with the person that bought the car when new or someone that knows the car?

I know the name of the person the car first was licensed on in Sweden back in 1988 so i will try to talk to him

    Why did you think that?

There was quite a bit of discussion here about what was included with the shipping report before the service was operational. It was pretty clearly stated back then that it was just a shipping report (VIN XYZ shipped to deal ABC on thus & such date) and there was no info on the car's factory configuration...

Even with third party data bases like that created/used by insurance actuaries, there's no info on the configuration of the car. Why?

The configuration of the car was never in question. Both GM and the ordering dealer had records via an independent channel documenting how the car was configured and what its value was. So, this was simply a non-issue back when the car was built and shipped...

      Hey Claus !!

The information you thought you might get has been known as the "Holy Grail" of Corvette information that most believe no longer exists. All we have to work with is the shipping information.

The good thing about the shipping info is that it gives you a place to start. Hopefull with the luck of a name or a lead, you can put the puzzle together piece by piece.

It is very exciting trying to do this, but can be frustrating at the same time. For now, the shipping info is the best we can get. Take the info you got and run with it as far as you can. Trace every lead you get, and most important of all...................... have fun and never give up.
