Anyone had any luck getting historical info from Bill Jacobs Chevy in Joliet, Il? Shipping data report shows my 64 coupe went to this dealership...prod was Feb 1964. I did contact them and after waiting a month was told records only went back 10 years? I also have a 69 coupe that was part of the 8% where shipping data couldn't be found. I have the protecto plate for this car and the original owner was from Aurora, Il. It's possible this car could also be from Bill Jacobs. Ironic...cars were bought 10 years apart and 2 different states...neither was Il.

Re: Illinois Vettes...Bill Jacobs Chevrolet
Bill, I am a little surprised the PoP doesn't have dealer information on it. Many/most of those I have seen have a dealer's stamp on them and sometimes a salesman's name and key codes. Too bad your's doesn't.Terry- Top

Re: Illinois Vettes...Bill Jacobs Chevrolet
Bill,
It's not really that close to the area you are talking about but do you have any knowledge of Barry Chevrolet Sales, Aledo, Illinois? Through a roundabout way I actually have uncovered an old picture of the place but have no other real information other than evidence it was around in the early to late 60's.
I know the dealer there is now Essig-Magee, formerly Essig-Welch. Will probably start with them, then the local library, chamber of commerce, historical society, etc. Any info or other contacts or ideas would be appreciated.
