Here in Washington the plates had different alphabetic groupings based on the county of residence. Maybe they were doing that back in the old days in California as well? Beats me.................

Michael, I bought a 1966 Corvette with black Ca. plates in early '67 from the original owner. I would have been surprised with a shipping report on this car if I did not know the story. The original owner's parents lived in Michigan. He ordered the car from Wink Chevrolet, in Mich. The original owner picked the 1966 up in St. Louis, and drove it to Calif. where he had a job.
Hopefully, lots of Corvette history will now unfold with the shipping report information.
