Dealer Code 290, Zone 49 - Now what!?!?!?

Now I have my Dealer Code and Zone number. The only other information provided is that it is believed to be Pennsylvania - now what? I was already pretty sure that my car originated in PA and spent most of its early life there.

By the way, the production date was 5/14/1963.

Hopefully, someone will recognize the Zone and Code and help you out !!

The original dealer for my car told me today that there was a pretty big local Corvette club in the 60-70's in the area of upper NY state and suggested that I try to reach or research them.

Might be an idea for you to do a search for local car clubs in PA and ask who remembers your White '63.
If it came from a small town like my car did, the search should not be too hard.

I have been searching local car clubs and everywhere else I can think! I did get some information from Joe Morroney of Stoudt Auto Sales in Reading Pennsylvania. He is also a member of the Skyline Drive Corvette Club. He knew the second owner of the car (who is now deceased) and even sent me some pictures from two of their car shows in 1977. I also know that the car was still in the area (with a different owner - still unknown) in 1987 as I found a service sticker on the gas tank from Dames Chevrolet in Pottstown, PA (about 20 miles from Reading, PA). Unfortunately, they went out of business last year!

I was hoping the NCRS info would lead me to the original dealership to narrow down the search for the original owner! May be eventually it will!

We had bought a Chevy Astro van from Klick and Lewis back on 1987.
Klick and Lewis in Palmyra, PA.
Zone 49
Dealer 294
I think the dealer no. 290 name starts with the letter " K ".
Dames Chevrolet would be the the " 100's numbers " for the letter " D ".
Have you sent for the shipping records for your shipping records?

I did not realize that the Dealer Numbers were assigned alphabetically, but that would make sense! Your data is from 1987 - wouldn't the Dealer Numbers change each year as dealerships closed and new ones opened? That would affect my search as well....

Hello Jon,
To answer your question. No. Each year keeping the same number.
They had gaps on the numbers system to add new names of dealers.
I know that a dealer number did change the number sometime over time.
But this was not the norm. Maybe the dealer move to a new address to asign a new dealer number.
