    Jim,
I would love to see the key ring. Does it have the dealer logo on it?

      John,

It does not have a logo. It states "Dawson Taylor Chevrolet Center TE. 4-4330.

I couldn't figure out how to post the picture on this site. If you PM me your email address, I will send you a picture of it that way.

      George,

I emailed a copy to you.

          Re: Dawson Taylor Chevrolet

I have another ad to post. This one is from '62. I have since found out that Dawson Taylor had an arrangement during the early sixties with the Vette Shop that was nearby to handle Corvette work. This is confirmed by the attached ad.

just had lunch, yesterday with Van N., who bought a '65 coupe from Tom Swindell and Dawson Taylor, new, and still has the car. We had a great conversation and he is going to look for his paperwork so that, maybe, we can post some logos, etc., from the dealership. We may even try and have some license plate frames made up.

            George,

Did you ever have any follow-up with Van?

              Jim,
Yes, and no. I have emailed him and he says he's still looking for it all. I missed him at the National meet but here is what he said by email, after.

"My Dawson Taylor stuff was not where I thought it was. I'll
definitely share the materials with you as soon as I find the folder."

I am in contact with someone who knew all the players and worked at the Vette Shop. Hopefully, more to come.

                Re: Dawson Taylor Chevrolet

Here is a link to a phot site with lots of Corvette info and an ad for Dawson Taylor:

In the earliest days, regions organized a regional championship and awarded a “national” championship based on cumulative points. In 1965, the “national” series moved to a more competitive format. The top three regional winners (plus alternates) were eligible for the national Runoffs. Commencing in 1965, the “Runsoffs” were known as the American Road Race of Champions (ARRC). Between 1965 and 1969, the National Runoffs (and ARRC) were hosted (alternating years) at Daytona and Riverside. In early 1970, the SCCA moved the championship Runoffs to Road Atlanta where they were held through 1993. In the late 1980s the ARRC picked up sponsor names so that it was the Champion Spark Plug Road Race of Champions (CPRRC) and then the Valvoline Road Race of Champions (VRRC). In 1994 the Runoffs moved to Mid-Ohio where they were held until 2005. The Runoffs moved to Heartland Park in Topeka, KS from 2006 to 2008. The SCCA signed on with Road America for 2009 where the Runoffs were located thru 2013. Moves to Laguna Seca for 2014. Other locations thereafter.

                    All,
some pictures of a Corvette Club of Michigan meeting at Dawson Taylor in '62, we think. You've got to love the pill box hats and pipes.

Does anyone in NCRS have any VIN data or membership data from CCM?
