We think it is time for an update regarding the Shipping Data Report. To date we have processed 725 reports.
Of those 725 requests 57 have received refunds, because we were unable to find the specific VIN in the data we have. This can be due to many things holes in the data, damaged microfiche, missing data, etc. In my mind this means that 92.2% of the requests have information found.
Of the information found 42 vehicles have incomplete data, this again is due to several things first and foremost damaged microfiche. Another item comes into play which adds a new twist to information recovery that being missing pages in the GM dealer registries. Yesterday we sent out 18 new reports for information that we had recovered after discovering some missing pages and 18 individuals which originally received no dealer information now have dealer information. Will we recover more Dealer information possibly and if we do the above mentioned 42 and all future partial information reports will be updated at no charge to the purchaser as the information is recovered.
This all says that 92.2% of the requests are being answered with some information and that approximately 6% of those being answered are receiving partial information.
Your fellow NCRS members working on these requests have a passion for the hobby, the information, and the vehicles. If not the attempt to recover this information would have never come to fruition. So you should expect the results might be is a little different than what you might have received when you had someone ask someone else to look up something for you as a favor from the NICB.
Please be patient we are processing as many as we can as fast as we can, but there are a lot left to do and the orders are still coming in at a fairly brisk pace.
